Soccer Camp 2022 Thursday Recap

Thursday was another beautiful day at Soccer Camp, and like the previous days it was filled with some special events.

The campers started their day off like always with a prayer, the pledge of allegiance, and breakfast. The menu for today was pancakes and sausages.

The campers flocked into the chapel at 9:15am following their quiet time for the Thursday morning chapel service. The worship consisted of You're Worthy Of My PraiseOur God, How Great Thou Art, and Lord, I Need You.

When the worship time concluded, CIT Toby came up to give his testimony. He shared the events leading up to when he trusted in the Lord Jesus as Savior in January 2020, and how the Lord has worked in his life since then.

Our speaker James Clifford followed his trend of giving out candy to kids who could answer questions about his message from the night before.

James then transitioned into his message which was on loving the Lord with all our soul. This was a followup to some of his previous messages that focused on loving the Lord with all our heart.

The campers met at the soccer fields after chapel for their skill of the day which was a combination of the three skills they practiced this week: passing, dribbling, and shooting.

For lunch the campers were provided corndogs, chips, and vegetables. What followed was their typical rest time and some Dutch Futbol sessions.

After Dutch Futbol, the campers once again enjoyed some free time. Some of the campers utilized their free time to work on their pinewood cars for the second Annual Pinewood Derby planned to be held in the evening

The campers gathered outside the dining hall at 5:15pm to give thanks for the food. They then went inside and enjoyed teriyaki chicken with rice, and ice cream for dessert.

After dinner, the International Matches began. Teams were assigned a flag and thus it became the country they would represent. The matches today would follow a point system and the winners of the matches would move onto the championship on Friday.

After the campers finished up Thursday's International Matches, they went straight to the chapel for the second Annual Pinewood Derby.

After the derby concluded, the Annual Singalong began. The music team of Seth, his daughter Anna, Jeff, Itamar, and John Jones led the campers with many of the songs played throughout the week.

In between some of the songs were a couple of testimonies by camper Chris and staff member Itamar.

The night concluded with a brief message from James, and then the traditional playing of I Have Decided to Follow Jesus. Continue to pray for these campers that they too would make that decision to follow the Lord Jesus if they have yet to do so.
