Thursday

Thursday
Weather: currently 71 degrees, Overcast and cloudy with rain showers anticipated for this afternoon through the evening. A light breeze with no heat of the sun makes it a great day to play soccer this morning!

Skill of the day: Putting it all together-
International Soccer Matches begin tonight!!
All campers received wristbands with their teams colors (blue or white).

Songs at Chapel: John 8: 1-11
“Rescuers”
“1000 Reasons”
“Counting Every Blessing”
“Background”

Chapel Message: The Rich Man
Speaker: Diego Mendieta

Matthew 19:1-2, 16-26
Jesus’ healing large crowds of people who followed him from Galilee.

Jesus teaches a rich young man what he must do to get eternal life.

What did Jesus mean when he said, “only one is good?”

Why did Jesus mention, “keep the commandments?”

Jesus teaches us that no one is perfect, no one is capable of keeping the 10 commandments.

Why was the rich man sorrowful?
What does verse 26 mean?

“Great is Your Love”
“Counting Every Blessing”
“Everlasting Love”
“Amazing Grace”

Chapel Message: The Face of Grace
Speaker: Diego Mendieta

Christ looks at you and says “I Love You”
Christ looks at you and says “You are worth it”
That’s what Jesus’ purpose was on earth, was to go to the cross and die for your sins. Amazing Grace.

 Luke 23:32-43
Two other criminals on the cross with Jesus.
There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
You are in a court room convicted of crimes (all your sins). Jesus came and took our conviction away.

  1. Can you point out the difference between the two criminals?
  2. What did the second criminal understand about his condition before Christ?
  3. What did one of the criminals say to Jesus?
  4. Why was the response of Christ priceless?

Mark 12:30
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your souls and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

Monday Evening Chapel

Evening Chapel Message

The campers learned 3 ways  to look at scripture for better understanding and knowledge.

How do we study the Bible?
Who
What
Where

Acts chapter 9: 1-19
What Saul was like before he became a Christian.
Saul had an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. He went blind for 3 days, the Lord spoke to him. The Lord’s mercy, grace and love surpassed anything Saul had ever or could ever do in his life. The man that brought initial destruction to destroy Christianity became a Christian himself. The Lord gave Saul a new name and it was Paul. Paul came to write 13 books of the Bible.

Take home:
We don’t deserve the love of God.
It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in your past, Jesus has the power to change you.

“We live in a world that everybody wants to change. You can change things you do; only Jesus can change who you are. And once he changes who you are, that changes what you do.”

Amen!

Happiness is temporary, but JOY is ETERNAL.

“For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God?”
If you were to die today, where would you go and why?
We are not promised tomorrow!

Even your greatest works are considered filthy rags.
John 14:6
“I am the way the truth and life and no one comes to the father through me.”

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that whosoever believes in Him will have everlasting life.”
