Soccer Camp 2022 Wednesday Recap

Everyday is a big day at Soccer Camp and Wednesday was no different. Although the campers follow a general schedule for the day, there are always special activities and events to help keep things exciting.

The campers lined up for breakfast at 7:45am where they would go on to enjoy bacon and egg burritos.

After about an hour of quiet time, the campers filed into the chapel at 9:15am for the Wednesday morning chapel service. The service, which was again livestreamed on Facebook and Instagram, began with the singing of You Are Holy, This is Amazing Grace, and Waymaker.

The worship time was followed by another message from our speaker James Clifford. James' message focused on forgiveness. God is perfect and we are not. Yet no matter how many sins we have committed, if we approach Him with a repentant heart, we can be forgiven like the woman who washed the feet of Jesus with her tears and anointed His feet with fragrant oil. After approaching Him with a repentant heart, Jesus told her in Luke 7:48, “'Your sins are forgiven.'”

The campers went down to the soccer fields after chapel for their skill of the day which was shooting.

They then enjoyed a treat for lunch with chicken nuggets and fries. After a little rest, they were back out on the soccer fields for their Dutch Futbol sessions.

Their free time began an hour and 15 minutes later when they were able to choose to partake in many different activities from swimming, to wallball, to arts and crafts, to fishing, and more.

After an hour and a half of free time, the campers lined up outside the dining hall to give thanks for dinner. The menu for Wednesday was Philly cheesesteaks and salad. For dessert the kitchen staff served pudding.

Instead of evening soccer matches, dinner was followed by a camp-wide scavenger hunt similar to the one held at Soccer Camp last year.

When the scavenger hunt finished, the campers made their way to the chapel for some worship, a message, and Soccer Camp's first annual Christian Karaoke Night.

The Christian Karaoke featured five songs. The first four songs were sung by a combination of different cabins, while the fifth and final song (Truth Be Told) was sung solo by camper Andrew.

James closed out the night with a message on Acts 16 which he was able to connect to an aspect from all the karaoke songs, with an emphasis on Truth Be Told. Many think that they are fine without the Lord but are broken without Him. Only the Lord can fix us. James stressed the importance of each camper having their own personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Please pray for each camper to accept the Lord Jesus as Savior or for those who have, to grow in their relationship with Him.
